Menopausal Syndrome

Menopausal syndrome refers to the symptoms experienced by women during menopause, the transition period in a woman’s life when her ovaries stop producing eggs, her body produces less estrogen and progesterone, and menstruation becomes less frequent, eventually stopping altogether.

Common treatment of this syndrome includes the use of synthetic hormones to attempt to bring the body back to balance to reduce symptoms. This therapy is recommended by the Mayo Clinic for a short duration opposed to long term use due to side effects such as increased risk of heart disease, breast cancer, stoke, dementia, and blood clots.

At the Lotus Center of Oriental Medicine, we offer non-drug solution to menopausal syndrome. Our treatment and therapy has shown proven results in the treatment of hot flashes, night sweats, disturbed sleep as well as emotional disorders. The therapy helps adjust hypothalamus, pituitary and adrenal cortex axis, harmonize internal organs and rebuild homeostasis of balance. The treatment, therefore, eventually helps bring back the normal balance of female sex hormones, i.e., an increase of estrogen level with a lowering of the high FSH (follicular stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone). The treatment includes, but not limited to, Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Nutrition and diet.
